A total of 10 Konkuk University (KU) alumni have been elected to the National Assembly as a result of the parliamentary elections held on April 13, 2016. Eight of them received their graduate degrees from KU, and two attended KU’s graduate schools. In terms of political parties, seven belong to President Park Geun-hye’s Saenuri Party, and three are from opposition parties—the New Politics Alliance for Democracy and the People’s party. Two other KU alumni—Ms. Eun-Jae Lee in Gangnam District and Mr. Shinhwan Oh in Gwanak District—will also serve a second term. Ms. Lee was formerly the dean of KU’s Graduate School of Public Administration.
