On June 14, 2016, a delegation from the University of the Witwatersrand visited Konkuk University. The delegation met with KU’s Vice President for International Affairs Kwangsoo Kim and discussed signing an agreement on exchanging students and conducting joint research, which will be the first KU enters with a university in South Africa. Located in the Johannesburg, the University of the Witwatersrand had approximately 29,000 students. The university is particularly renowned for its business education, and was ranked the second best in South Africa by the Times Higher Education for 2015-2016.
