Both KU Executive Vice President Min and PPU Vice President Aiman Soltan Tamimi gave keynote addresses, which was followed by panel discussions by eight professors and researchers. Government officials from Palestine’s agricultural ministry as well as professors, researchers, and students from universities nearby attended the workshop, showing keen interest in Korea’s advanced research and technology.
This was the third visit by the delegation to the Biotechnology Center, a project supported by KU’s Institute of International Development Cooperation and the Korea International Cooperation Agency. Through the project, KU intends to increase food production and food safety in Palestine with technology transfer and training programs. The center, which is to undertake research in agriculture, animal health, and food safety, is expected to serve as a hub for university-industry collaboration in the region.
