KU Professor Designs Uniform for US, Mongolian, and Kazakh Taekwondo Teams

<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><img style="margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11667902" /><br />On July 25, 2016, Konkuk University announced that Professor Sangbo Shim of the Department of Apparel Design designed taekwondo uniforms for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Recently Professor Shim collaborated with the San Francisco-based Vision USA, Inc. to develop the Tusah TMAX line, which will be worn by members of the US, Mongolian, and Kazakh taekwondo teams. For the uniforms, Professor Shim surveyed 400 taekwondo coaches and athletes and incorporated their suggestions. He focused on Hanbok’s design as well as function, using CoolMax and stretchable fabric. The Tusah TMAX line went on display at the 2016 USA national Taekwondo Championship held in Richmond, Virginia, during July 4-10. The newly designed uniform was received favorably.</span> </span></p>
