<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">On August 22, 2016, Konkuk University’s commencement ceremony took place at the New Millennium Hall. Approximately 2,400 graduate and undergraduate students from the main campus in Seoul and the Glocal campus in Chungju received their degrees. A total of 118 doctoral degrees, 712 master’s degrees, and 1,597 undergraduate degrees were conferred. Since the first batch of graduates in 1952, Konkuk has produced more than 200,000 alumni so far.<br /><br /><img style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11670479" /><br /></span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">During the ceremony, KU President Heeyoung Song congratulated to students for their many years of hard work and advised graduates to be remindful of their first day at Konkuk. “Opportunities are given to only those who analyze their strengths and weaknesses and continuously take on new challenges,” he said.<br /><br /><img style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11670481" /><br /></span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Meanwhile, the main campus was decorated with approximately 1,000 banners made by current students to congratulate the graduates in their departments and activity clubs. Many of the banners took ideas from popular buzzwords and movies. One was made after Pokemon Go, the popular augmented reality game.<br /><br /><img style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11670482" /><br /></span></p>
