On February 12, 2017, Konkuk University announced that its Department of Educational Technology signed an MOU for academic exchange with the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC). Headquartered in Turin, UNSSC was established in 1996 to provide skills and knowledge to empower UN staff and offers residential courses, distance-learning, and seminars.
The educational technology departments’ MOU with UNSSC came in light of Konkuk University’s Research for Undergraduate Students program. In November, the program held an academic conference and two students were selected to give presentations on their research in Turin at a seminar organized by UNSSC. Ms. Dohyun Jeong presented on the impact of board games on art education in elementary schools and Ms. Jungyoon Lee’s presentation was titled “Developing Platforms for Mobile-based Educational Games.”
The Department of Educational Technology and UNSSC agreed to support research, share latest developments in training and learning, and exchange students and faculty members. Professor Geol Lim of the department said, “Through the partnership with UNSSC, we will be able to build capacity and the department could make progress as a leader in practice-based research.”
