On July 3, Konkuk University began its 2017 International Summer Program, a two-to-four-week-long program that provides a great opportunity for students wishing to learn about Korea and experience its culture. This year, students from 17 countries, such as Australia, Brazil, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the United States will be participating in the program. Many of them are students from Konkuk’s partner universities, such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, Fudan University, Kadir Has University, University of Leicester, and University of Macao.
During the month of July, they will take courses in Korean culture and IT business in addition to Korean language while staying at Konkuk’s on-campus residence halls. In the afternoon, students have the option to join cultural programs with Konkuk student volunteers and will go on two field trips to Daebu Island and Yongin Folk Village. During the first week, students learned about Taekwondo and made Korean rice cakes as part of the cultural programs.
