According to Konkuk University, the University ranked 501st in the world and 12th in Korea in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
On a yearly basis, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook by using their 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators.
The performance indicators that are grouped into five areas are as follows:a. Teaching (learning environment): 30%b. Research (volume, income and reputation): 30%,c. Citations (research influence): 30%,d. International outlook (staff, students and research): 7.5%,e. Industry income (knowledge transfer): 2.5%
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most respected and cited international league tables by applying strict criteria.
The University has done better on all pillars, including research, citations (research influence), teaching and international outlook (international collaboration), compared with the results last year.
“We could receive positive feedback externally by hiring excellent professors and enhancing educational conditions after being selected for the PRIME Project. However, on citations pillar, we barely moved up the rankings. So, we will put forth our utmost to raise the quality of theses by making a bold investment in research,” said KU President Sanggi Min.
