Konkuk University has oversea visiting programs during summer vacation to let students broaden their global experiences and grow as global leader with international competitiveness and challenge spirit.
Kokuk university’s oversea visiting programs are ‘PRIME KU New Frontier’ program and ‘Dr. Jung’ program sponsored by KU Alumni, Dr. Kunsoo Jung. This year, 40 students for New Frontier program and 20 students for Dr. Jung’s program were selected and gained chances for overseas exploration.
On July 4th, 20 students of 7th Dr. Jung’s program departed to Europe and explored European countries such as Italy, Switzerland, England, and France and studied their cultural heritage and advanced educational system.
After Dr. Jung’s program, students showed their gratitude to Dr. Jung and said “Thanks to Dr. Kunsoo Jung’s love toward his juniors, I could dream about my future and I want to be a person who can share love what I have gotten in our society.
Dr. Jung program, which is Konkuk University’s representative overseas exploration program, has been operating since 2012 by Konkuk University’s Alumni Dr. Kunsoo Jung (formal KU Alumni Association, President of Daedeuk steel) with his 100 million won donation. The president Jung encouraged students that “I want my juniors to foster their global and challenge spirit from overseas experiences and based on that experience, I want them to have successful career in the future. Also, Konkuk University’s new step depends on what kinds of roles students have in our society.”
The Dean of student welfare of Konkuk University, Mr. Song Hyuk said that “by experiencing and seeing foreign countries culture, I want them to broaden their international sight and grow as future-oriented person and I will continuously develop the Dr. Jung program to be more large scale and constructed.”
On July 12th, 22th New Frontier students explored Portugal, Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
‘PRIME KU New Frontier’ is a scholarship program to foster global leader with international competitiveness and challenge spirit which the university supports most of oversea exploration expenses.
