On April, 5, 2018, Konkuk University (KU) announced that KU delegates, including President Sanggi Min, concluded MoUs regarding comprehensive cooperation and exchange with the University of Wisconsin–Madison (UW–Madison) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), during their six-day visit to the US which began on March 26 and ended on March 31.
The UW-Madison’s, founded in 1848, is a public comprehensive university in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The university has been placed 55th in the UK-based Quacquarelli symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2018.
The UMB, established in 1807, is a public comprehensive university in Maryland, Baltimore, United States. The UMB School of Medicine was ranked 40th in U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 rankings of “Best Medical Schools: Research”.
First lady Yumi Hogan, the Honorary Co-Chair of the Council for Arts and Culture at the UMB, has played a key role in promoting exchange between KU and the UMB. KU conferred upon her an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Art on her visit to Korea in 2017.
After attending a luncheon, given at the governor’s mansion located in Annapolis, on an invitation from the First lady, KU delegation toured Annapolis on March 29, 2018.
