KU Alumnus Chang-hyeon Lee to Win the Japanese Intercollegiate Meat Judging Competition

<div style="text-align: justify;"> <p>Konkuk University (KU) alumnus Chang-hyeon Lee, Class of 2011, participated in the 10<sup>th</sup> Japanese Intercollegiate Meat Judging Competition as a representative of the Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and topped in the beef and overall categories. He earned his bachelor’s degree in food science and biotechnology of animal resources from KU and is now studying for a master’s degree in food technology and biotechnology at the Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.<br /><br /><img alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11730349" /><br /><br />The Japanese Intercollegiate Meat Judging Competition aims to increase understanding and awareness of the livestock industry and the meat industry among university students majoring in animal science and nurture talent who would lead the meat industry of Japan.</p> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <p>63 students representing 14 universities competed in three categories, including pork, beef and primal cut, in this year’s competition.<br /><br /></p> <p>Top five students, including Lee, who received the highest total scores will be given opportunities to take part in the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association (ICMJ) workshop and contest as representatives of Japan.</p> </div>
