Konkuk University signed a MOU to develop educational programs that help North Korean defectors adapt to the digital world.
Konkuk University Software-Focused University Project Foundation announced on the 6th that it will sign an agreement and cooperate to spread the value of SW for Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights and North Korean defectors. The signing agreement was attended by Director of Software-Focused University Project Foundation, Chairman Seok Woo Kim of Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights, President Kyung Seok Yang of Hangyoreh School and Professor Sang Sun Yoo of Industry-Academic Cooperation.Throughout the agreement, the two parties will work on *establishment of mutual cooperation system to develop customized SW education programs for North Korean defectors’ social adaptation support *operation of customized SW education programs *other cooperative projects for educational development.Director Yong Beom Cho said, “It is important to educate digital talents to be self-sustaining in a SW-driven society,” adding that, “We hope that various programs will be actively promoted to help North Korean defectors settle down by using Konkuk’s SW education infrastructure.”
