Konkuk University signed a MOU with Hanam City on the 15th to foster new industries of the future and build lifelong learning environment.
President Young Jae Jeon and Mayor Sang-ho Kim of Hanam City signed an agreement on ‘fostering new industries of the future and building lifelong learning environment’ at a room of Hanam City Hall and announced to strengthen mutual cooperation for the development of the two institutions.Throughout the agreement, the two institutions will share human resources and education infrastructure to foster new industries of the future and build lifelong learning environment.Konkuk University is taking the lead in the development of high value-added industries and training of social entrepreneurs by fostering BIO-ICT convergence experts through the LINC+ project. Hanam City is also actively striving to cultivate new industries of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as medicine, bio-health, metaverse, AI convergence and carbon neutral fields, and create lifelong learning environment. President Jeon said, “The agreement with Hanam City will be a significant opportunity to discover new industries of the future, foster industry specific talents and build lifelong education city,” and “We hope that the active exchanges between Konkuk University and Hanam City will become a successful case of government-academic exchange.”Mayor Kim said, “The agreement with Konkuk University will strengthen cooperation to build environment for startups and venture businesses, moreover, it will be a great opportunity to develop Kyosan New City and Camp Colbern,” adding, “We hope that it also helps to establish education infrastructure of Konkuk University and lifelong learning systems of Hanam City.”
