On August 22, 2025, Konkuk University (KU) conferred degrees upon 2,141 graduates at its 138th commencement ceremony. The highlight of the event was the congratulatory address by Professor Roger Kornberg of Stanford University, recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Standing before an era of rapid change and an uncertain future, the graduates received a clear message from Professor Kornberg.
"Life decisions are not about weighing pros and cons, nor are they solutions to mathematical equations," Professor Kornberg told the assembled graduates in the New Millennium Hall. "My own answers about life are purely subjective and inevitably personal and emotional matters."
