The Korean Government Scholarship Program is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea for degree programs, which in turn will contribute to promoting the international exchange in education and to deepening the mutual friendship among countries.
- (U) Undergraduate program: Korean Language (up to 1 year) + Degree Program (4 years)
- (G) Graduate program
- Master’s program: Korean Language (up to 1 year) + Degree Program (2 years)
- Doctoral program: Korean Language (up to 1 year) + Degree Program (3 years)

ELIGIBILITY
- Citizenship: Applicant and his or her parents must not hold Korean citizenship
- Age
- (U) Applicant must be under 25 years of age
- (G) Applicant must be under 40 years of age
- Health: Applicant must be in good health, both physically and mentally
- Level of Education
- (U) Applicant must have graduated or be expected to graduate from a high school
- (G) Applicant must hold or be expected to hold a Bachelor’s (applying for Master’s program) or Master’s(applying for Doctoral program) degree
- Grades: Applicant must have maintained the overall grade point average (CGPA) equivalent to or higher than 2.64 on a 4.0 scale

SCHOLARSHIP AND BENEFITS
NIIED
- Airfare
- Entry to Korea: economy class flight ticket from the scholar’s home country
- Return: economy class flight ticket to the scholar’s home country
- Settlement Allowance: 200,000 KRW (offered once upon arrival to Korea)
- Monthly Allowance: (U) 900,000 KRW per month / (G) 1,000,000 KRW per month
- Research Allowance: (G) only
- Liberal Arts and Social Science: 210,000 KRW per semester
- Natural Science and Engineering: 240,000 KRW per semester
- 1-Year Korean Language Training Fee: fully covered
- Degree Program Tuition: maximum 5,000,000 KRW per semester (amount exceeding 5,000,000 KRW covered by Konkuk University)
- Thesis (Dissertation) Printing Fee: (G) only / actual printing cost shown on the receipt
- Liberal Arts and Social Science: maximum 500,000 KRW
- Natural Science and Engineering: maximum 800,000 KRW
- Medical Insurance: National Health Insurance covered
- Korean Proficiency Grants: 100,000 KRW per month (only to scholars with valid TOPIK level 5 or 6)
- Degree Completion Grants: 100,000 KRW (only to scholars returning to their home countries after completing their degrees)
Konkuk University
- Admissions Fee
- Degree Program Tuition: amount exceeding 5,000,000 KRW
- Dormitory
- On-campus dormitory guaranteed
- Partial financial support of up to 200,000 KRW per month (about 250,000 KRW per month will be deducted from the monthly allowance)
- 1:1 Student Mentor Program
- Quarterly Meetings and Korean Culture Programs
