Established in 1959, the College of Animal Bioscience and Technology is a unique institute specializing in animal sciences. It consists of four departments including Animal Biotechnology, Food Science and Biotechnology, Animal Science and Environment, and Livestock Business Management and Marketing Economics. Through studies involving swine, poultry, dairy cattle, and beef cattle, the college focuses its research efforts on explaining biological mechanisms, developing new technologies, applying technology, and sustaining the environment. Courses in the applied and basic aspects of animal nutrition, reproduction, genetics, and management provide current information needed by students. All courses are designed to provide students with a broader background in all phases of animal agriculture and prepare them for the demands of an ever-changing career market.
To aid research and training, the college maintains extensive training facilities, including a general laboratory, milk plant, meat-processing plant, experimental pastures, feed plant, and a fully-operational farm in the city of Paju.
