From the Incheon Int’l Airport

We strongly recommend you to take a KAL Limousine Bus from the airport to the Sheraton Wakerhill Hotel and then there to take a taxi to KU. The bus takes off from the airport every twenty minutes or so. Depending on traffic conditions, the bus ride to the hotel will take 50~80 minutes and the tax ride will take another 10 minutes before you reach the KU International House or your contact point on campus. As of this writing (Fall 2009), the total cost would be 20,000 KRW (less than twenty USD).

You may wish to verify your destination by checking the KU map before your departure. A map with your destination marked could be shown to a taxi drive to avoid unnecessary hassles.


Alternatively, you can take a more affordable limousine bus (6013) which stops at a number of places before reaching Konkuk University bus stop. You may be able to save about 7,000 KRW. This could be a good option if you are travelling with a small-sized luggage but bear in mind that you do need to carry all your personal belongs to your destination on campus by walk!

Taxi

There are two types of taxies available in Seoul area. The regular taxi will cost about 70,000 KRW but you can come to Konkuk University directly from the airport . If you have an accompanying family or group of friends, this could be a good option to take. However, keep in mind that the compartment space of luggage in a regular taxi may be limited.

By taking a deluxe taxi (black colored), you can load more luggage and enjoy passenger space at the cost of extra 20,000 KRW (i.e., 90,000 KRW).

The taxi fare may vary, depending on traffic condition and distance as the fare will increase by transportation time. Tipping cabdriver or any driver in Korea is optional.

Airhelp

(from Incheon International Airport to Konkuk campus)

Airhelp Center Int’l provides an airport pick-up service for students and visitors to KU. You can make a reservation through the company’s website: http://www.newairhelp.co.kr. Also you may wish to contact them through service@airhelp.co.kr. Please check carefully their terms and conditions stated at their website. Konkuk University may not be held responsible for any accidents or liabilities related to your use of Airhelp, however.

Via Metro Transportation to Konkuk

You will find that Konkuk University is conveniently accessible through bus or subway systems in the Great Seoul Metropolitan area. Here is the transportation map around the Seoul Campus.

DIRECTIONS(HOW TO GET TO KU)

By Seoul Metro Subway

  • Line No. 2 Exit No. 2 of Konkuk University station
  • Line No. 7 Exit No. 4 of Konkuk University station or Exit No. 3 of Children’s Grand Park station

By Metro Buses

  • Konkuk University bus stop 240, 721, 2222, 2223, 2224, 3220, 302, 3216
  • Konkuk University Hospital bus stop 240, 721, 2222, 3220, 4212

By driving a car

  • Kyung-boo Express Highway (Highway 1)
    After passing the Pankyo toll gate, take the Highway 100 toward Guri and continue until Seohanam interchange. Take the Gang-dong route to cross the Olympic Bridge. Stay on the road until you find a sign to Konkuk University (KU) on your left. You might have barely passed an entrance to the Children’s Grand Park on your right. Turn left toward Konkuk University entrance.
  • Joong-boo Express Highway
    Take Sangil, Hail, or Seohanam Exit to cross Olympic Bridge and then stay on the route. You will find the Children area. Here is the transport before you make a left turn at the Konkuk University sign.

Campus Parking

  • Parking Space
    • Underground parking lot : Sang-Huh Memorial Research Hall, College of Law, College of Life & Environment Science, and Industry & Academic Cooperation Center
    • Ground Parking Lot : It is suggested that you park at designated areas only on campus. However you will be surprised by plenty of on-campus parking spaces.
  • Parking Fee
    • Guests : 3,000 KRW per hour or 500 KRW per 10 minutes
    • Faculty, teaching staff : 10,000 KRW per month/ 50,000 KRW per six months
